Is Petite Source a pool?
Is Petite Source a pool?
Petite Source has water filtered every six minutes, making it disinfected and disinfectant. This characteristic makes Petite Source similar to a pool from a legal perspective.
Philosophically speaking, a pool is traditionally considered to be of a certain size, allowing for activities like swimming. When Piscinelle, the owner of Petite Source, launched the first 10 m² pools on the market in 2005, these were seen as anecdotal or marginal offerings.
Today, 10 m² pools represent an essential part of the lifestyle associated with the word “pool.”
Considering this experience, perhaps Petite Source and its one cubic meter of water represents the pool of tomorrow...

Petite Source is a product designed and entirely manufactured by Piscinelle in our workshops in Val d’Oise (95). Benefiting from the expertise gained by the group thanks to its over 20,000 clients since 1979, Petite Source has been designed to be robust, simple, and durable.
The entire internal structure, benches, coping, and exterior cladding are made with patented 100% aluminum profiles. Each piece is machined and inspected by our craftsmen, welders, and turners. The deck, designed like a boat’s deck, is handmade by our carpenters. The waterproof liner is crafted in Brittany.

How is Petite Source installed?
How is Petite Source installed?
The installation of Petite Source is carried out at the designated location by reassembling all its parts. This approach, very different from monoblock units like traditional spas or hot tubs, allows Petite Source to be installed in even the most inaccessible locations without difficulty.
This installation phase, carried out by trained and dedicated teams, can take two to three days depending on the complexity of the delivery. The only thing you’ll need to arrange is a power cable that supports 2.5 kW and a receiving surface that meets our recommendations.
What kind of access is needed to transport Petite Source?
What kind of access is needed to transport Petite Source?
Petite Source consists of independent elements that are assembled on-site. The longest element is 2.88 m, and the heaviest weighs 10 kg. Can Petite Source be embedded/installed in-ground?
Petite Source is not designed to be embedded, but it can be placed against up to two walls simultaneously. During its assembly, you will need about 50 cm of space around the bath. After assembly, you can move Petite Source to sit flush against a wall.
Note, however, that Petite Source cannot be placed flush against the side of the technical chamber (a clearance of about 70 cm is necessary).
NB: It is not possible to backfill Petite Source with earth or gravel; it should be placed against a retaining wall or an existing wall.

Can I install Petite Source on a rooftop terrace?

Petite Source is designed for easy rooftop terrace installation.
Its installation does not impact waterproofing.
Depending on the load-bearing capacity of the structure it will be placed on, Petite Source can be installed in the following ways:
- Directly on the planned surface, ideally a smooth concrete slab (maximum load at the base: 600 kg/m²).
- On a load distribution floor of 36 mm thick and the size of Petite Source (maximum load at the base: 335 kg/m², including bathers).
- On a load distribution structure consisting of raw steel HEA beams, with a 36 mm thick floor placed on top. This structure covers 9 m² (3 m x 3 m), larger than Petite Source itself (maximum load at the base: 258 kg/m², including bathers).

Petite Source is designed for year-round use. In fact, Petite Source comes standard with water heating up to 34°C. It can thus welcome you at the ideal temperature in any season: warm in winter, refreshing in summer.
Its reinforced insulation at four key points and its adjusted one-cubic-meter water volume allow for controlled electrical consumption, regardless of how you use Petite Source."
Can I leave my Petite Source empty?
Can I leave my Petite Source empty?
Petite Source is not meant to be emptied. Therefore, we recommend keeping it filled, even during prolonged periods of non-use. Depending on the outside temperature, it is recommended to run the filtration for a few hours per day.
In the specific case of winter, filtration does not need to be active as long as the water temperature drops below 14°C. However, in cases of extreme cold (particularly in high mountains), it is advised to fully drain the system to avoid damage to the hydraulic circuit due to freezing.
In all cases, remember to protect Petite Source with its cover, especially if it has been emptied, to best preserve the liner.
What is the water consumption of Petite Source?
What is the water consumption of Petite Source?
Petite Source is water-efficient, both in its initial fill and its usage. Its one cubic meter of water is equivalent to five bathtubs, and the water—filtered entirely every six minutes—is not emptied after each use.
Petite Source can naturally collect rainwater or be refilled with a hose if a top-up is needed.
NB: We recommend systematically using the foam insulating cover to reduce evaporation by up to 98%.
Does Petite Source need to be plugged in at all times?
Does Petite Source need to be plugged in at all times?

How is Petite Source filled and emptied?
Petite Source is filled using a simple garden hose. The filling takes between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the water flow.
It is drained through the main drain in the hydraulic system. After this, about 15 cm of water remains in the basin to hold the liner in place. To fully drain Petite Source, we recommend using a sump pump.
How is the water in Petite Source treated?
How is the water in Petite Source treated?
Petite Source holds one cubic meter of water. This is equivalent to about five bathtubs, making its treatment extremely simple.
Mechanical Filtration
When Petite Source's water is heated, it is automatically filtered through the skimmer filter, with the cartridge retaining impurities down to 15 microns, ensuring crystal-clear water for your bathing.
Depending on how intensively Petite Source is used (number of bathers, water temperature, natural impurities like pollen or leaves, etc.), the filter cartridge should be rinsed more or less frequently (at least once every three months).
Chemical Treatment
To disinfect the water, Petite Source has a small, easy-to-use range of treatment products. Daily treatment mainly consists of renewing micro-dosed chlorine tablets placed in the skimmer basket (about once a week).
If Petite Source's water is used continuously, we recommend renewing it once every three months.
How is Petite Source maintained?
How is Petite Source maintained?
Petite Source is a place for rest and relaxation... its maintenance is minimal. A soft sponge, a disinfectant for bathroom use, and a cloth will suffice when you deem it necessary.
To protect Petite Source during periods of non-use, you can opt for the protective cover.
If your Petite Source is exposed to outdoor debris (pollen, leaves, pine needles, etc.), a cleaning kit with a net and a manual robot is available as an option.
