With the goal of retaining heat in the water as efficiently as possible, Petite Source is equipped with four points of reinforced insulation.
The water surface of a pool is where the greatest heat loss occurs. Petite Source has a 3m² water surface, and to insulate it optimally, we have designed a foldable cover. Extremely easy to handle, this cover can be positioned effortlessly over the water surface in just a few seconds.
In doing so, Petite Source will be perfectly insulated and will retain its water, as the cover reduces evaporation by 98%.
The exterior walls of Petite Source cover an area of approximately 6.5 m². The structure’s walls are made of double-skin aluminum, with a thickness of 20 mm. The resulting 15 mm air gap is enclosed at the top and bottom, creating an initial layer of insulation, similar to the principle of double glazing.
In addition to this method, Petite Source maintains the temperature of its water through an added layer of insulation: high-density 20 mm extruded polystyrene panels (0.60 m² / kW) applied over the entire exterior surface of the structure.
On the only part in direct contact with the ground (the bath well, approximately 1 m²), a high-density 20 mm extruded polystyrene insulation panel is installed, followed by a second layer consisting of a 20 mm double-skin aluminum wall, identical to the structure of Petite Source.
The interior walls of Petite Source cover an area of approximately 10.5 m². All surfaces in contact with the water are coated with a 5 mm layer of high-density, closed-cell polyolefin foam. In addition to providing excellent comfort, this layer serves as an effective thermal insulation for the water in Petite Source.
The technical wall of Petite Source, which houses the skimmer, jets, bottom drain, and light, is in contact with the filtration space, which is naturally more insulated and warmer than the other three walls of the bathing area. For this reason, and to ensure seamless integration of the technical components, this wall is covered with a different, more flexible felt that allows for greater thermal exchange.
These insulation methods together enable Petite Source to optimize water temperature retention and minimize evaporation discreetly.
